“Light up Our Lives” Campaign
Epilogue Players is excited to announce our campaign to raise money to upgrade the current stage lighting system to more efficient and flexible LED fixtures! The goal is to raise $30,000 through individual donations, sponsorships, and corporate donations and grants to replace the existing incandescent fixtures and power distribution systems and to add state-of-the-art DMX distribution to the entire lighting grid.
Our current system is a hybrid of older incandescent dimmers and fixtures combined with a few LED fixtures, which is often difficult to mix when designing the lighting for a show. The older incandescent fixtures use 500-750 watt bulbs which use much more electricity than LED fixtures, and are get extremely hot. In addition, the incandescent fixtures can only change color by placing a filter in front of the lens, making them inflexible for creative design. The newer LED technology allows you to use the lighting console to create any color imaginable.
Virtually all new theatre installations are using the LED technology, and existing theatres have or plan to upgrade to LED technology as soon as practical.
Epilogue Players has formed a committee to plan and execute fundraising for this project and to make other improvements. Although ticket sales and patron donations fund the vast majority of the costs of operating the theatre, funding a major expense such as the lighting upgrade requires a special assist from our patrons and corporate citizens to make it happen.
To make that happen, we will be applying to corporate partners for grants and donations, setting up a donation page on our website and Facebook page, creating smaller fundraising events and other activities in the coming months. Our goal is to schedule installation for summer of 2024.
You can help us by identifying potential donors and sponsors and getting us together to discuss and close the deal. And, of course, we appreciate your generous support through direct donations.
